2020 Stake Creation[]

The Orlando Florida West Stake was formed on August 23, 2020 as a split from the Orlando Florida South Stake. It includes the following units: Bear Bay Mandarin Branch, Winter Garden Ward, Buena Vista YSA Ward, Avalon Ward, Lake Reams Ward, Lake Crescent Ward, Lake Louise Ward, Citrus Ridge Ward, and Davenport Ward. Some units came from the Lakeland Florida Stake and Leesburg Florida Stake. The new stake is the Church's sixth stake organized in Florida since 2015. There are now 34 stakes in Florida.

The first Stake President of the new stake is Gary Hansen. His 1st counselor is Christian Andrade, and 2nd counselor is Wade Lowe. The new building being built in the area will possibly be the new stake center.

The stake conference where the new stake was organized was presided by Vern P Stanfill of the Seventy and Douglas B Carter of the area seventy. [1]
