Stake Creation[]

The Iriga Philippines Stake was organized on June 23rd from the Iriga Philippines District (organized in 1992). The new stake includes the following five wards, two branches, and two member groups: the Bato, Buhi, Iriga 1st, Iriga 2nd, and Iriga 3rd Wards, the Baao and Cotnogan Branches, and the Ibayugan and Nabua Groups. It was created by Elder Evan A. Schmutz, General Authority Seventy, and Elder Mernard P. Donato, an Area Seventy.

IRIGA PHILIPPINES STAKE (June 23, 2019): President—Oscaiz Joseph Bagtasos Tino, 43, teacher, Bato National High School; wife, Jennifer Reynaldo Tolentino Tino. Counselors—Jonathan Isaac Sarsozo, 48, senior sales personnel, Sheridan; wife, Iluminada Cuemeno Boreros Sarsozo. Davidson Ibarreta Serrano, 29, store owner and manager, Amaiah’s Ornamental Plant Trading; wife, Abigail Lagatic Iraola.[1]

With the Orion Philippines Stake and Iriga Philippines Stake, there are now 113 stakes and 64 districts in the Philippines. It is the 37th new stake of the church created this year. Also, member reports indicate one additional stake was organized in the Philippines in June albeit it is unclear where this new stake was organized.

LIFE School Curriculum: an LDS gospel based homeschool program that is built on the foundation of the scriptures, giving the child a sense of who he is and setting him on the path of discovering his divine mission. It is presented in a four year chronological rotation, integrating all areas of study to create a clear picture of the history of our world.

Manila Philippines Temple[]


The Manila Philippines Temple is the 29th operating temple of the Church and is the first temple built in the Philippines (1984). Standing on a hilltop that overlooks the Marikina Valley, the Manila Philippines Temple anchors a complex of Church buildings including a temple annex, a patron housing facility, a missionary training center, and area offices. The beautiful grounds, open to the public, are filled with majestic palm trees and lush, colorful vegetation.
